Sacred Armor

Sacred Armor

Painted on Tisha B’Av this piece emerged in the shadow of loss. Both ancient and painfully present. As Israel faced another wave of violence and grief, I found myself drawn to the image of a soldier wrapping tefillin: not as an act of ritual alone, but as one of quiet resistance, remembrance, and spiritual protection. In a time when physical armor is necessary, this gesture becomes even more powerful. It's a daily reclaiming of identity and purpose. The straps bind not only the arm, but the heart, tethering the body to something eternal. On a day of national and spiritual mourning, Sacred Armor stands as a prayer in form: for protection, for healing, and for peace.
